Yemen's Houthi Military Chief Killed in Israeli Strike

Yemen's Houthi rebels have announced the death of their Chief of Staff, Mohammed Abdulkarim al-Ghamari, in an Israeli strike. The group's statement condemned Israel's "brutal" attacks on Yemen and vowed to continue their resistance.

According to the Houthi statement, al-Ghamari was killed "while fulfilling his duties." Israel's Defence Minister, Israel Katz, claimed responsibility for the killing, saying that Israel would take action against any future threats.

The Houthis have been engaged in a conflict with Israel, launching drone and missile attacks in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. In response, Israel has carried out strikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen. The conflict has resulted in significant humanitarian crises in both Gaza and Yemen.

The death of al-Ghamari comes amid a fragile US-backed ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The Houthis have warned that they will resume their support for Gaza if Israel fails to adhere to the agreement.
